1. What were Claire's challenges that she was facing promoting her business and why did she decide to work with CreateFlow.Online?
When Claire first approached CreateFlow, her goal was simple: to build a professional online presence and appear on the first page of Google for local dog grooming searches in Battle, East Sussex.
Within just 30 days, her business had established a strong online presence, achieved first-page Google visibility, and was building trust through consistent social proof, AI-friendly content and customer reviews.
Today, Claire's business benefits from:
First-page visibility on Google for her target audience.
An active social media presence showcasing genuine customer experiences.
GEO-optimised blog content helping AI platforms understand and recommend her business.
A growing collection of authentic reviews across her chosen review platforms.
A simple Raving Reviews dashboard where she can easily request, monitor and manage reviews whenever she chooses.
In the video, Claire also shares what it has been like working with Donna at CreateFlow—from the support and communication throughout the process to how straightforward and productive everything has been.
She talks about the overall experience, the ease of getting everything set up, and how having ongoing guidance has given her confidence as her business continues to grow.
Together, they create a simple but powerful journey:
Get Found. Get Trusted. Get Chosen.
2. What would you say to somebody sitting on the fence with using Word-of Mouth Marketing and Raving Reviews & Friendly Funnels?
Every day you delay collecting and showcasing your customer reviews is another day your competitors are winning customers that could have been yours.
People already trust word of mouth. The question isn't whether it works—it's whether you're making it easy for your happy customers to spread it.
Raving Reviews automates the process, and Friendly Funnels turn that trust into enquiries, bookings and sales.
As a newly established professional dog groomer, Claire knew that her beautiful log cabin salon offered a calm, one-to-one experience—but being tucked away in a peaceful rural location meant she couldn't rely on passing trade.
Instead, her business needed to be found online before it could be chosen offline and Claire learned how reviews are an important ranking factor and are simply fuel for her business.
By combining Friendly Funnels with Raving Reviews, Claire now has a complete marketing system that helps local dog owners discover her business, build trust through genuine customer feedback, and confidently book their appointment.

Ready to be seen, trusted and chosen
on
Review Sites
Socials
AI Platforms
For generations, local businesses have grown through personal recommendations.
Someone needs a reliable dog groomer, builder, consultant or café, so they ask someone they trust:
“Who would you recommend?”
That conversation still happens—but today, it often begins online.
Instead of asking one neighbour, customers search Google, check Maps, browse social media or ask an AI assistant. Within seconds, they can see what dozens—or even hundreds—of people have said about a business.
Your online reviews have become your digital word of mouth.
Traditional word of mouth is powerful because it comes from someone who has experienced the business personally.
A genuine online review works in much the same way.
It tells potential customers:
What the experience was really like
Whether the business was reliable
How the customer was treated
What result they received
Whether they would recommend the business to someone else
The difference is scale.
A spoken recommendation might reach one friend or family member. A published review can influence every person who finds your business online—day after day.
Your happy customers are no longer simply customers. Their experiences can become part of your most trusted sales team.
Visibility matters, but being visible doesn’t automatically mean being chosen.
Imagine someone searches for a local service and sees three businesses offering roughly the same thing.
One has a handful of old reviews.
Another has mixed feedback with no responses from the business.
The third has a steady collection of recent, detailed reviews, thoughtful replies and an excellent overall reputation.
Which one feels safest?
Customers usually look for reassurance before taking action. They want to know that other people have trusted you and felt pleased that they did.
This is why reviews sit at the heart of the customer journey:
You get found.
Your reviews build trust.
That trust helps you get chosen.
A strong star rating certainly helps, but customers often look beyond the number.
They notice:
Are people still using and recommending the business now?
A glowing review from several years ago is encouraging, but a regular flow of current reviews demonstrates that the business remains active and dependable.
Are reviews arriving naturally over time?
A consistent pattern feels more authentic and reassuring than a sudden burst followed by months of silence.
Do customers explain what made their experience special?
“Great service” is positive, but a review describing the care, communication, result or personal attention gives future customers something meaningful to connect with.
Does the business acknowledge and value its customers?
A thoughtful response shows that somebody is listening. It also gives the business another opportunity to demonstrate its personality, professionalism and care.
Does the same trusted reputation appear across Google, the website, social media and other relevant platforms?
Customers move between different online spaces before making a decision. Consistent social proof gives them confidence wherever they encounter your business.
Reviews are often thought of as something customers read after finding a business.
But they can also contribute to visibility.
Search engines, map platforms and AI-powered tools look at a range of signals when deciding which businesses appear relevant and trustworthy.
These may include accurate business information, location, website content, activity, customer sentiment and the strength of a business’s online reputation.
Reviews are not the only factor—but they are an important part of the wider picture.
They provide fresh, customer-generated language about what you do. Customers may naturally mention a service, product, location or result in ways that help platforms and future customers understand your business more clearly.
A healthy review presence can therefore support two important goals:
Helping your business become more visible
Helping customers feel confident enough to choose you
Most happy customers are willing to leave a review.
The problem is that life moves quickly.
They return home, check their messages, make dinner, go back to work—and the review they intended to write slips down the list.
This doesn’t mean they weren’t happy. It simply means there was no easy, well-timed process to help them act.
Many businesses depend on remembering to ask manually. That often leads to an inconsistent pattern:
Reviews are requested when business is quiet
Asking stops when things become busy
Follow-ups are forgotten
The same customers may be contacted twice
Valuable feedback remains hidden
Word-of-mouth marketing works best when it becomes part of the customer journey—not another task resting on the owner’s shoulders.
The easier the process feels, the more likely a customer is to complete it.
A good review journey should:
Reach customers through a convenient channel
Use a warm, personal request
Provide one simple link or tap
Work comfortably on a mobile phone
Arrive while the positive experience is still fresh
Give every customer a fair opportunity to share honest feedback
Reviews should never be bought, manipulated or restricted only to customers expected to give five stars. Genuine feedback is valuable because it is trustworthy.
The goal isn’t to manufacture a perfect reputation.
It is to make it easier for real customer experiences to become visible.
A wonderful review should not disappear into a list on one platform.
With the customer’s words working appropriately across your marketing, that single review can become:
Social proof on your website
A reassuring post on social media
Evidence within a sales page
A testimonial beside a booking button
Inspiration for future content
A useful insight into what customers value most
This is where reviews become fuel.
One customer experience helps reassure the next customer. That new customer has their own positive experience, leaves another review and strengthens the cycle again.
It creates a natural word-of-mouth momentum:
Happy customer → trusted review → new customer → new experience → new review
You can tell people that your business is caring, reliable and professional.
But when your customers say it, the message carries a different kind of weight.
Their words provide the reassurance that advertising alone cannot create. They turn promises into proof and help potential customers picture what their own experience could be like.
That is why reviews are no longer a small finishing touch to your marketing.
They are part of how your business is discovered, understood, trusted and chosen.
Raving Reviews by CreateFlow helps businesses collect, manage, respond to and showcase genuine customer feedback more consistently.
Instead of chasing reviews manually, you can create a simple system that keeps your reputation visible across the places customers are already looking.
Because your customers are already talking about their experiences.
The opportunity is to make sure those conversations continue working for your business.
Would you like to turn your happy customers into your most trusted sales team?

We HATE spam. Your email address is 100% secure
When someone needs a local service, they rarely begin with the name of a particular business.
They search—or increasingly ask:
“Who is the best dog groomer near me?”
“Which local builder has the most trustworthy reviews?”
“Can you recommend an educational consultant in Sussex?”
“Where is the best place nearby for this service?”
Google, Maps and AI-powered search tools then try to identify the businesses most likely to answer that person’s needs.
But how do they decide who deserves to be visible—and who gets recommended?
There is no magic button, single ranking trick or guaranteed formula. Instead, these platforms look for a collection of signals that help them understand three things:
What does this business do?
Can it genuinely serve this customer?
Does it appear trustworthy enough to recommend?
Google explains that local results are mainly based on three factors:
Relevance
Distance
Prominence
These factors work together, which is why the business with the most reviews—or the one physically closest to the customer—will not automatically appear first every time.:
Relevance is about how closely your business information matches what the customer is looking for.
Google needs to understand:
What your business does
Which services you provide
Which customers you help
Where you provide those services
What makes your business relevant to this particular search
A complete and accurate Google Business Profile helps Google build that understanding.
Your primary and additional business categories, services, description, website content, photographs, opening hours and other details all contribute to the wider picture.
If your profile simply says “Consultant,” but your website clearly explains that you provide educational consultancy, workshops and speaking engagements across Sussex, Google has much more useful context.
Specific information removes ambiguity.
Distance considers how close the business is to the location used in the search.
Sometimes the customer includes a place:
“Dog groomer in Battle.”
At other times, Google estimates the customer’s location from the information available to it.
Businesses cannot control where every customer searches from. However, they can help Google understand where they genuinely operate by keeping their address or service areas accurate.
This is particularly important for service-area businesses that visit customers rather than welcoming them to a public shopfront.
Adding dozens of towns you do not realistically serve will not create genuine local relevance. Clear, accurate coverage is much more valuable than trying to appear everywhere.
Prominence broadly considers how well-known and credible a business appears.
Google may consider information from across the web, including:
Your Google Business Profile
Customer reviews and ratings
Your website
Links to your website
Business directories
Articles and other online mentions
The business’s position in ordinary search results
Google confirms that more reviews and positive ratings can help a business’s local ranking, although reviews are only one element of the complete picture.
A business with accurate information, a useful website, genuine reviews and a consistent presence across the web sends stronger signals than one with incomplete details and little visible evidence.
Google summarises its local-ranking approach as relevance, distance and prominence. Google Business Profile guidance
Reviews help platforms and potential customers understand what people actually experience when they use your business.
A healthy review profile can communicate:
That the business is active
That customers genuinely use its services
Which services people value
Where customers are located
Whether experiences are consistently positive
How the business responds when customers communicate
For example, a review might mention:
“Claire was wonderful with my nervous cockapoo and created such a calm one-to-one grooming experience.”
That review does more than award five stars. It helps people—and potentially search systems—understand that the business offers cockapoo grooming, supports nervous dogs and provides a calm, individual experience.
Reviews should never be forced, purchased or manipulated. Their value comes from being authentic evidence of real customer experiences.
Google itself says reviews can help a business stand out and provide potential customers with useful information. Google’s review guidance
Imagine two otherwise similar businesses.
One has excellent reviews, but the most recent was left three years ago.
The other has a steady flow of genuine feedback, current photographs, accurate opening hours, fresh website content and thoughtful responses from the owner.
Which one appears more active today?
Freshness does not mean constantly changing information for the sake of it. It means keeping your online presence aligned with the business that currently exists.
Useful activity may include:
Receiving new customer reviews naturally
Responding to existing reviews
Updating services and opening hours
Adding genuine business photographs
Publishing helpful articles
Keeping your website accurate
Sharing relevant business updates
Consistency helps demonstrate that the business is operating, attentive and engaged with its customers.
Traditional search generally presents a list of results.
AI-powered search may go a step further by summarising information and producing a direct response, such as:
“Based on strong customer feedback and relevant local services, these businesses may be worth considering.”
However, there is no single universal system used by every AI platform.
Different tools may draw from different combinations of:
Search indexes
Business profiles
Websites
Maps and location information
Public reviews
Directories
News articles
Videos
Community discussions
Other publicly accessible sources
Google explains that its generative AI search features remain rooted in its core Search ranking and quality systems. They retrieve relevant, current web pages from Google’s index and use those sources to construct useful responses with supporting links. Google’s AI Search guidance
That means the foundations of good search visibility still matter in an AI-search world.
AI does not remove the need for SEO, accurate information or trustworthy content. It increases the importance of making your business easy to understand across multiple reliable sources.
Before an AI tool can confidently recommend your business, it needs enough dependable information to understand it.
Consider whether your online presence answers these questions:
What exactly does the business offer?
Who is it designed to help?
Where does it provide its services?
What experience or qualifications support its claims?
What do real customers say?
Is the information consistent across different platforms?
Is the website current and accessible?
Is there enough evidence to distinguish it from similarly named businesses?
If one platform says you are a consultant, another says software company and your website appears to be only an online shop, the overall picture may be unclear.
That does not mean every description must be identical. It means they should all tell a compatible story.
Your Google Business Profile may introduce the business, but your website gives you room to explain it properly.
A useful local-business website should clearly communicate:
Your principal services
Your location or service areas
Who you help
Your experience and expertise
Customer testimonials
How to contact or book you
Answers to common customer questions
Helpful articles can deepen that understanding by answering the real questions customers ask before making a decision.
Google recommends creating original, useful and people-first content rather than publishing pages designed primarily to manipulate rankings. Google’s helpful-content guidance
The aim is not to write robotic content “for AI.”
The aim is to make your expertise genuinely useful and understandable.
Behind the visible website, structured data can provide search engines with explicit clues about the information on a page.
For a local business, this may help identify details such as:
Business name
Business type
Address
Opening hours
Telephone number
Website
Relevant business information
Google describes structured data as a standardised format for explaining and classifying page content. LocalBusiness structured data can help Google understand details about a business, although it does not guarantee higher rankings or a particular search appearance. Google’s LocalBusiness structured-data guidance
Think of it as clarity—not a shortcut.
There is no way to guarantee that Google or an AI platform will recommend a particular business.
However, you can create a stronger, clearer and more trustworthy digital presence.
Focus on:
Keep your business name, contact details, categories, services, hours and service areas correct.
Build a steady process for requesting honest reviews from real customers.
Reply professionally and personally to feedback so customers can see that you listen and care.
Explain your services clearly and answer the questions customers genuinely ask.
Make sure your website, Google profile, review platforms, directories and social channels describe the same real business.
Share genuine expertise, insights, images, case studies and examples that another generic website could not simply reproduce.
Ensure your website can be accessed, crawled and understood by search engines.
Appearing in a search result is valuable.
Being recommended is stronger.
But even a recommendation is not the final goal.
The customer still needs to feel confident enough to click, visit your website, read your reviews and take the next step.
That is why the complete journey matters:
Accurate information helps platforms understand you.
Visibility helps customers discover you.
Reviews help them trust you.
Your website helps them understand your value.
A clear booking journey helps them choose you.
Each part supports the next.
Raving Reviews by CreateFlow helps businesses build and manage the customer-review signals that support trust and visibility.
It helps you request genuine feedback, respond consistently and showcase your strongest customer experiences across your online presence.
Where needed, CreateFlow can also help strengthen the wider journey through Google Business Profile support, relevant content, converting pages, booking funnels, email follow-up and automation.
Because the aim is not simply to appear online.
It is to become the business that customers—and the platforms helping them decide—can understand, trust and confidently choose.

From First Click to Booked Customer
A potential customer has found your business.
Perhaps they discovered you through Google, saw one of your social media posts, read a customer review or received a recommendation from a friend.
They clicked.
That first click matters—but it is only the beginning.
The person visiting your website is not yet a customer. They are looking for reassurance, understanding and a simple reason to take the next step.
The journey from first click to booked customer needs to feel clear, connected and effortless.
When somebody clicks through to your website, they are usually trying to answer a few important questions:
Can this business help me?
Do they understand what I need?
Can I trust them?
What will the experience be like?
How much might it cost?
What should I do next?
If those answers are difficult to find, people rarely spend time searching for them.
They leave.
This does not necessarily mean they disliked your business. They may simply have felt uncertain, distracted or unsure about what to do next.
A successful customer journey removes that uncertainty.
Many businesses concentrate heavily on visibility.
They work hard to appear on Google, publish social media content, improve their reviews and attract visitors to their website.
But visibility without a clear journey can create attention without action.
The customer arrives—and then reaches a dead end.
Common obstacles include:
A website that looks attractive but has no clear next step
Too many competing buttons and choices
Contact information that is difficult to find
No straightforward way to book
Forms that request too much information
Little visible customer proof
No explanation of what happens after an enquiry
No follow-up when someone is interested but not ready
The problem is not always that the business needs more visitors.
Sometimes it needs to make better use of the attention it already receives.
Before someone books, they usually need to feel safe choosing you.
That is where customer reviews become especially powerful.
Your website can explain what you offer, but reviews provide evidence of what the experience is actually like.
They can reassure potential customers about:
The quality of your service
Your reliability and communication
The way you treat people
The results customers have received
How you respond when something needs attention
A converting website does not need to be complicated.
Its purpose is to help the right person understand what you offer and move confidently towards the next step.
A strong page generally needs:
Tell visitors who you help and what meaningful result you provide.
Avoid beginning with a long history of the business. Start with the customer and the problem they want solved.
Explain the available options in language your customers understand.
Focus on the outcome rather than overwhelming them with internal terminology or an exhaustive feature list.
Include genuine reviews, customer stories, qualifications, photographs and examples of your work.
Let people see the real business behind the screen.
Decide what you most want visitors to do.
That might be:
Book a call
Request a quote
Schedule an appointment
Download a guide
Send an enquiry
Start a free trial
Other links can still exist, but the principal next step should be unmistakable.
Some visitors will be ready to act during their first visit.
Others will be interested but need more time.
They may want to compare options, speak to someone else, wait until payday or simply return when life feels less busy.
If the only available choices are book now or leave, many interested visitors will disappear.
A useful lead magnet provides a gentler next step.
This might be:
A practical guide
A checklist
A free sample
A useful template
A short email course
A business assessment
An introductory video
The visitor receives something genuinely helpful, and the business gains permission to continue the conversation through email.
The aim is not to pressure people.
It is to remain useful and visible until they are ready.
Once somebody decides to speak with you, booking should require as little effort as possible.
A connected booking funnel allows them to:
Understand what the appointment is for
See available dates and times
Choose a suitable appointment
Provide the essential information
Receive immediate confirmation
Add the appointment to their calendar
Know exactly what will happen next
Every unnecessary step introduces another opportunity for distraction or doubt.
Your booking page should clearly explain:
What the call or appointment includes
How long it will last
Whether it is online or in person
Whether there is a charge
What the customer should prepare
What happens after booking
Clarity reduces uncertainty and helps the customer arrive feeling comfortable and prepared.
The customer journey does not stop when someone presses the booking button.
The confirmation email is often the first direct communication they receive from you. It should feel warm, professional and reassuring.
A good confirmation should include:
The date and time
The meeting location or joining link
A calendar invitation
What will be discussed
Anything they need to prepare
Contact details in case something changes
A reminder closer to the appointment can reduce missed calls and help the customer feel looked after.
After the appointment, thoughtful follow-up keeps the momentum moving. This might include a summary, recommended next steps, useful links or a proposal.
Automation can deliver these communications consistently while still sounding human and personal.
The strongest customer journeys do not treat marketing activities as separate pieces.
Everything supports the next step:
Google and social media create discovery.
Reviews create trust.
Your website creates understanding.
A lead magnet keeps the relationship open.
Email follow-up builds confidence.
The booking funnel creates action.
Confirmation and reminders improve the experience.
When these pieces are disconnected, customers can fall through the gaps.
When they work together, the journey feels natural.
You may not need a completely new website.
A business can have an established, attractive site and still be missing the conversion journey around it.
You might only need to add or improve:
A focused landing page
A clearer call to action
Customer reviews in the right places
A lead magnet and email sequence
A booking funnel
A link-in-bio page
Automated confirmation and reminders
An upsell or follow-up offer
The goal is not to replace something that already works.
It is to connect the missing steps so that more visitors can become customers.
Website traffic can be encouraging, but the number of visitors alone does not tell the complete story.
Consider:
How many visitors take the next step?
Which pages create enquiries?
Where do people leave?
How many bookings are completed?
Which reviews or testimonials receive attention?
Are people opening and clicking follow-up emails?
Which source produces the most suitable customers?
A smaller number of well-matched visitors moving through a clear journey can be far more valuable than a large amount of unfocused traffic.
The flow continues after the service has been delivered.
A happy customer can be invited to share honest feedback. That review then reassures the next potential customer, who follows the same journey and may eventually become another advocate.
The complete cycle becomes:
Found → Trusted → Booked → Served → Reviewed → Recommended
This is where customer journeys and word-of-mouth marketing meet.
One positive experience helps create the next.
Raving Reviews helps you build the trust that encourages customers to choose your business.
Friendly Funnels helps connect that trust to clear landing pages, lead magnets, booking journeys, email follow-up and automated communication.
Together, they create a smoother path from initial discovery to confirmed appointment—without expecting you to chase every enquiry manually.
Because getting more traffic is not always the answer.
Sometimes the greatest opportunity is helping the people who already find you take the next step.
